have a question someone please answer me, how is it possible that our governor who is divorced, lives with his girlfriend and fights for late term abortion rights can receive communion

I understand that but why if the church knows that hes openly committing a mortal sin they still let him condemn himself by receiving the Eucharist

New Apologetics I don’t understand your answer. If a saint were to come down from heaven or a saint alive today, would they give holy communion to a catholic politician who openly accepted abortion?

There is no sure way to prevent a person from condemning himself. Not even God can do it. Denying a person communion is a serious matter. They may have repented privately, and how would we know. In some cases, it can do more harm than it avoids because it is the language of condemnation even if it is not the intent.We are all crucified together, really. It is a mess, and it is also our only hope.
